Analyst - Growth Analytics

Bengaluru, Karnataka, IN · Onsite · 2 months ago

Company: Apna Role: Analyst Team: Growth (Marketing) Requirement: 1 Location: Work from Office - Domlur, Bangalore (5 days / week) Experience : 2-4 Years of Experience Why Join Apna At Apna, data is central to how we build products, understand users, improve employer outcomes, power recommendations, and scale decision-making. This role gives you the opportunity to build the backbone of Apna’s data platform and influence how data is used across the company. You will work on real-world, high-scale problems across jobs, users, employers, communities, matching, growth, and AI-driven systems. About the Role We're hiring an Analyst for our Growth Analytics team , working at the intersection of data science, business analytics, and strategy for a large-scale, SMB-focused jobs marketplace. You'll partner closely with our Demand & Supply, Sales, and Product teams to solve two-sided marketplace problems — matching job demand with candidate supply, forecasting where gaps will open up, and driving measurable interventions. This is a high-ownership role. You won't just pull numbers; you'll frame the problem, choose the right method, and turn the answer into a decision leadership can act on. Requirements What you'll do Build and maintain SQL-based analytics on large distributed datasets (Presto/Trino), spanning candidate and job-market analysis, revenue streams, cohort/retention tracking, and conversion funnels(Python knowledge is a plus). Build and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards to track key metrics in real time, enabling stakeholders to self-serve insights without ad hoc requests. Own demand and supply forecasting: build top-down and bottom-up projection models, and flag surplus/deficit pockets at cluster and segment level before they become problems. Translate analysis into executive-ready deliverables — polished Word and Excel reports, leadership summaries, and occasionally market-facing / PR content for senior stakeholders. Partner cross-functionally to size opportunities, pressure-test hypotheses, and recommend concrete interventions — then help measure whether they worked. Proactively surface analytical gaps and give honest assessments, including when a hypothesis isn't supported by the data. What we're looking for: 2–4 years in analytics or data science, ideally in a marketplace, consumer-internet, or high-growth environment. Strong SQL — comfortable with window functions, multi-CTE queries, and large-scale distributed data (Presto/Trino a plus). Ability to take a messy, ambiguous business question and turn it into rigorous, well-scoped analysis with a clear narrative. Strong written and verbal communication — you can write for a CEO and present crisply to leadership. Rigorous, detail-oriented, and intellectually honest; you double-check your numbers and are willing to retract a finding when the method doesn't hold up. Preferred: Hands-on experience with demand forecasting and demand-supply management, with a track record of taking initiatives that solved real supply/demand imbalances. Tier-1 college background (IIT / NIT / BITS or equivalent). Experience with two-sided platforms or marketplaces.

About Apna Company Since 2019, apna has connected over 60 million jobseekers with more than 250,000 enterprises and small businesses across India. Founded by Nirmit Parikh, a Stanford graduate and serial entrepreneur who recognized the challenges in entry-level hiring, apna has rapidly grown to become India's fastest unicorn in 2021—achieving this milestone in just 21 months. Backed by marquee global investors - Insight Partners, Tiger Global, Lightspeed India, Sequoia Capital, and GSV, we're revolutionizing livelihood creation across India. The role We're hiring Product Managers to own sharp, consequential problems at Apna. You'll work on a charter for a quarter or two, ship hard, and then take on the next one. Requirement: 1 Title: Product Manager Location: Domlur, Bangalore (Work from Office | 5 days week) Experience: 3+ years Industry: B2C (marketplace) Requirements What You'll Do: Own a charter end-to-end — frame the problem, define success, ship, measure, iterate Move across different parts of the business over time; strong PMs here rotate through high-impact problems rather than sit on one surface forever Build with AI in the loop — in your discovery, in your design process, and in the product itself Work directly with engineering, design, analytics, and functional partners (sales, ops, growth) Bring strong customer and data instincts to decisions; know when to ship and when to kill Real ownership on problems that move the business — not a slot in someone else's roadmap What we're looking for 3+ years of hands-on PM experience at a scaled consumer internet company You've shipped products, not just written specs. You can walk us through what you built, why, and what happened Sharp problem solver — you break messy problems into first-principles pieces High agency: You find the next thing to do before someone tells you AI-native, not AI-curious. You're already using AI day-to-day, in your workflow and in what you ship Strong customer, product, and business sense Self-starter. If being on camera is uncomfortable, this role isn't the right fit. (25%) Business Partnering & Collaboration Support lifecycle communication (WhatsApp, email) when campaigns or business priorities require it for enterprise accounts What We're Looking For 4-6 years of experience in social media, content, or brand communication preferably brand-side in a startup or high-growth environment Demonstrated cross-platform fluency across at least 5 of the platforms in scope you can speak to the distinct mechanics of each, not just the aesthetics Strong copywriting ability across formats: captions, scripts, campaign copy, and platform-native content Proven on-camera presence (comfortable presenting, hosting, and fronting brand content) Proven AI fluency - you have a daily working stack and can explain exactly where it accelerates your output and where it doesn't Ability to manage high content volume across parallel workstreams without dropping quality Deep familiarity with Indian internet culture and how trends travel differently across platforms Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, CapCut AI, or equivalent) as a daily part of the creative and production workflow Success Metrics — First 90 Days Baseline performance benchmarks established across all platforms Content calendar live with minimum 4 weeks of planned inventory Engagement rate improved 30 % against prior 90-day period on primary platforms Success Metrics — Month 6 At least 30% of monthly content is proactive (trend-led, newsjacked, or culturally driven vs. purely planned) Measurable improvement in at least one depth metric per platform: saves, shares, watch time, or profile visits from organic content A documented content framework, platform-specific voice guide, and performance tracking log that the team can use independently
